A PRODUCTIVE DAY

It's been a busy day. Walking with Anne, Sandra and the dogs this morning. Then a drive in to the Animates sale for a new dog bed, coat for Harley and dog food. Total cost just over $150 - but using $100 voucher thank to hotpoints - and I got the free goodie box promised. Lots of snacks, toys and vouchers for dogs, cats & fish. So friends will get to share the fun.

Back home with the goodies, then a walk back into town to go to the library, Briscoes sale for a couple of mugs, pick up a few groceries for Mum and back to Animates for a 'dog door' once I'd shuffled my finances. 20% off yeah. I'm so sick of having to constantly open and close the back door. It will be so cool to relax and let Buddy and Harley sort themselves out.

I shouldn't have got Mum's groceries from Countdown in the Plaza. Colorado's closing down sale is on - 50% off. I was reeled in. There was this big cage stopping me from going any further. No kidding. It was enormous!!! I ended up getting a new pair of ankle boots (my ones are nearing the end of their life) - nothing like Chris H's fantastic purple. Just plain boring black. They had some lovely clothes there - that cage might be dragging me back.

I couldn't handle a walk home so the bus did the honours. My pace count for today is 14,891 (3.5 bonus points) and I'm dead beat.

Isn't it frustrating that when everything seems to be going well something always comes along to ruin it all. I got a call earlier this week from my friend Bonnie. She's the one that loaned me her mobility scooter in 2009 for Mum to use. As it was sitting unused, I arranged the return.

I went over to collect it today only for Mum to admit that, despite it being set up for her, she had 'forgotten' to charge it up lately. You guessed it. Both batteries are knackered and it's going to cost me at least $500 to replace them. I've checked Trade me etc and there's so little cost benefit I may as well use a local supplier. Totally my fault. I should have taken the bloody thing back ages ago.

Oh well, Shit happens eh. I still have two happy dogs and we're all relaxing and building up energy fot tomorrows challenges. Onward......

VEGES AGAIN!!!

I'm knackered. My pedometers reading 12686 - 2.5 bonus points in the old ww program. Just like the weekends when I walked around town to watch Dave bowling. Nice memories.
I think both Buddy and Harley are tired as well. They've both been happy to relax all afternoon - until someone dared walk past the house that is. I might try the same long walk with them tomorrow morning as well - I haven't had to bath Harley today. Yesterday he had three!!!
Most surprising though is that I cooked veges again tonight as planned. Lately I've talked myself out of my plans finding any excuse not to follow through. Not this time round tho. I'm can sense Dave finally saying 'Go Girl' like he used to.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm walking into town to check out getting floor plans for the house and to get info about a rates rebate with my low income. Then stir fry beef and rice for tea.
Now it's time to blob out. Good luck for tomorrow's challenge for my teletubby buddys.

BEEN SHOPPING

I slept in this morning. So did the dogs. It was 10.15 when Buddy woke me up. That hasn't happened for a long, long time.
So our morning walk set out a little later than normal. It was nice though - both mild and calm with enough people on the streets to keep the boys motivated.
Their next adventure was a drive in the rav to get the groceries. I BOUGHT VEGETABLES!!! Cauliflower, carrots, kumera, pumpkin, and brocolli. The vege bins in the fridge are full for the first time for about three years. Now I just have to prepare and cook them. There is no way this Tinky Winky is going to have the smallest loss this week. I AM ORGANISED!!
I've got all the evening meals planned for the week starting with tonights small beef roast that I bought from Sunday Roast yesterday. We'll all get to share the beef.
I've even found my old pedometer. 7964 paces so far today. I'll do more tomorrow cause I'm walking into town in an effort to find at least one bank that has available english currency for me to buy without having to wait til later in the week. The forecast is ok so I'll get to walk the dogs later as well - if Mum doesn't beat me to it.
Here's hoping things are going as well for my teletubby friends.

KNACKERED

Just a quick message tonight. For some reason I feel absolutely exhausted. I think it's just because I'm not sleeping very well at the moment.
I've had a couple of full on days with housework and exercise so I think I'll have a rest day tomorrow. I've got a bag of bits and pieces to take to the hospice shop and there's still heaps of 'extras' around the house that can be added to it so I think that will be my only target for the day.
Thankfully my food intake is getting better so I'm looking forward to Saturday.
For now - nite nite, Both dogs are asleep. I think I'll have an early night.

ON OUR WAY.

Have you ever tried to type on a laptop while leaning back in a lazyboy with two dogs on your lap fighting for the most comfortable position. No - well it's such fun, really it is.
And isn't it great how easy it is to be motivated when you know you have friends working to the same goals.

I've had a couple of 'not too bad' days.
I walked into town yesterday to get Harley's new collar, but we never got to walk together because the heavens opened not long after I got home. However Larry finally came round to get exact measurements for the new 'dogs' fence. We got to spend some time measuring out and discussing the proposed house extensions.
Today is Dave's birthday.Hard to concentrate. My morning started with a call from Pat (his sister). Just the right thing at the right time. I'm so lucky to have such a lovely sil. Then Sandra & I got the pleasure of walking my two devils before I headed off to green script. (exercising with bands today) Walking dogs does nothing for muscles above the waist. My neck, back, arms & shoulders really knew they had been worked out.

Plans to walk into town for a haircut failed - bloody rain. But I felt good afterwards anyway.
My food choices are still not perfect, but I know they'll improve. At least the snacking has stopped.

Tomorrows plans are to wash & walk the dogs (again) and to clean the paw marks from the floors, carpets, bedding ...... Oh fun!!! Onward.

OH CRAP!!!!

Well I weighed in - talk about depressing. I've decided I'm never going to be this heavy again. Yeah right!! I've said that so many times before. But I reckon this time I've got the mojo to make it real.

It was glorious this morning. I set out to take the dogs for a long walk but gave it in early because this damned migraine just won't ease up.

Harley proved his dislike of his halti collar by eating through one of the straps. I spent about half an hour hand sewing it back together so firmly it wouldn't break apart and put it down by my chair. Bad mistake. I wondered why he was so quiet and found him in his dog bed. He had eaten away about an inch of the nose band. It's absolutely useless - $40 down the drain and no more walks for him until I get a replacement.

I've just had a lovely long talk with Lynne (my sister in Brisbane). It was so good to hear her voice. It just doesn't happen often enough.

The dogs are sitting together behind the drapes keeping a lookout for invaders. It's lovely and peaceful. I'm gonna blob out now in front of the tele.

No snacks though. Onward.....

THIRD TIME LUCKY - I HOPE!!!

Yep. Here I go again. This time the plan is to record my struggles with life and weight loss and not to give up on myself so readily as before.

Had a great 'brunch' and coffee morning with Sandra and Anne and left there feeling really motivated. Then got to have a quick chat to Chris H while walking through the Plaza. By then I was feeling really good - AND THEN I GOT A MIGRAINE!!!

So now I'm sitting here waiting for the pain and dizziness to go away so I can take the dogs for a walk. Buddys asleep on my lap and Harleys outside 'guarding' the front patio - barking at anything that dares come near the house.

As agreed I'll weigh in tomorrow morning for a starting point and look forward to a lighter future.
